Never would I be a person who tried to push any religion or to mock anyone's religions. I believe in freedom except where it encroaches on someone else's right to freedom. And I would never have dreamed of creating a portrait of someone that I did not know. But I had a Aunt who loved my artwork and wanted to commission this image. I did lots of homework looking at others ideas of this person but it did not help at all. So I just made a face that was friendly and with the lambs he was said to love. I was happy with my creation until someone said his skin was to dark so I redid it lighter and lost the friendly image. Changing it back to the darker skin tones brought the image back that I wanted. Before you jump to conclusions, I am not at all a religious person . I am what I call spiritual in that I believe everything in the universe is connected and I do not believe that anyone has all of the answers. My aunt was thrilled with the portrait and that is what I wanted!
Hello everyone. My name is June Pauline Zent and I have been working at my art since I was about six years old. At first with pencil, then colored pencil and later watercolor, oil, and pastel. I have also been a teacher of all of these mediums for many years both public in schools, colleges, galleries and privately in my studio. I have won more than my share of awards and honors and commissions from famous people and Institutions. Now I just want to market my prints by myself with the help of old and new friends. The question most often asked is why I don't stick to a few subjects and present a more unified body of work. The answer is I believe that you will find unity in my work if you look for it like most art and I paint what inspires...
