Artist's Description
This is the second in the series of three also named by my sister, painted from my flower garden but it did rain this time. it is one of my favorite roses. It has reds, yellows, and pinks at different stages so you can take advantage and paint all three The green leaves are fun too!

Hello everyone. My name is June Pauline Zent and I have been working at my art since I was about six years old. At first with pencil, then colored pencil and later watercolor, oil, and pastel. I have also been a teacher of all of these mediums for many years both public in schools, colleges, galleries and privately in my studio. I have won more than my share of awards and honors and commissions from famous people and Institutions. Now I just want to market my prints by myself with the help of old and new friends. The question most often asked is why I don't stick to a few subjects and present a more unified body of work. The answer is I believe that you will find unity in my work if you look for it like most art and I paint what inspires...

Dominique , You do know that this is a oil painting and not a photo or a reproduction? This rose lives in my garden and it is painted PlainAir I can just look out the window and sometimes poor water over flower to see where the droplets go. I do add what I think works and mininize what I think doesn't work. Thank you for your FAV.

Kim you must know that capture is usually reserved for photographs as in "snap" I have nothing against photos but I assure you this rose took many hours to paint in oil!

I just love your gallery. The more I look, the more I can see you. This is one of the pieces of art that caught me. Not only the drops of rain but the leaf below that is partly wilting and the background fading away.... Wonderful work, June. Making me wish that I could paint.

Thank you so much for your comment Sabina. It was wonderful to hear but don't sell yourself short. One of the best ways to gain skill is to study other artist and then go to your easel and try. Keep going back and trying again until you get what you want. When I was young Leonardo De Vencey and michaelangelo were my go tos. I learned a lot from them but the happy result is once you learn what you like then you go on to develop your own style!
